Some leaders talk about removing barriers for young people. Sherry Wyche has built a career doing it, in classrooms, in boardrooms, and in the High Point community she has called home for 25 years.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Triad (BGCTriad) has named Wyche its Senior Regional Director, Advancement Strategies & Systems. She began her transition to BGCTriad on October 2 and will step fully into the role on October 19, following a planned leadership transition at GO FAR, where she has served as Executive Director.

She arrives at a defining moment. This fiscal year, BGCTriad is opening eight new Club sites in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, growing to 14 this fiscal year. By FY2030, the Future Ready Triad vision calls for 25–30 sites serving more than 9,000 young people every year across 10 cities and five counties, making it the largest single-organization expansion in the nation for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Powering that growth is the Future Ready Triad Campaign, a regional effort and the largest fundraising initiative in the organization’s history.

Wyche’s job is to build the engine underneath it. She will lead the team responsible for donor relations, community impact and data, communications, and advancement operations, bringing them together as one system so that every relationship is stewarded, every dollar is connected to impact, and every story is backed by data.

“Sherry has spent her career removing the barriers that stand between young people and the education and opportunities they deserve, and she is one of the strongest ambassadors for youth development I have ever met,” said Dr. William D. Gibson, President & CEO of BGCTriad. “She has led as an executive director. She understands that lasting change takes both strategy and discipline. And she has a reputation for getting things across the finish line. Future Ready Triad is a movement built on relationships and results. Sherry brings both, along with the grit and genuine love for community that this work demands.”

That reputation was earned. At GO FAR, Wyche rebuilt the organization’s full fundraising cycle, from identifying prospects to stewarding donors, and grew annual contributed revenue by 84 percent. She turned goodwill into lasting partnerships with Novant Health, Fleet Feet, Carolina Core FC, and Business High Point, moved budget oversight from reactive to strategic, and restructured the board into a lean, highly engaged four-committee model.

Her roots in education run even deeper. Before GO FAR, she spent more than a decade in K-12 education and organizational growth. As Director of Engagement at Instruction Partners, she built regional partnership strategy from the ground up. At American Reading Company, she managed a $4.5 million national portfolio of more than 160 accounts across 18 states with a 95 percent retention rate. She also directed a 129-school literacy partnership with Guilford County Schools, the largest implementation in company, district, and state history. Earlier, with Guilford County Schools, she built higher education partnerships with NC A&T, UNCG, Appalachian State, NC State, and Greensboro College to strengthen the district’s educator pipeline.

For BGCTriad’s operations team, that blend of relationship-building and systems discipline matters.

“Every Club we open has to be built to last—staffed, resourced, and measured from day one,” said Tamara Campbell, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of BGCTriad. “Sherry understands that advancement and operations are part of the same promise we make to young people and families. She has built systems from the ground up, she knows how to align people, budgets, and data around results, and she has earned trust in every community she has served. As we activate new sites across High Point, Asheboro, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and across the region, Sherry will help make sure our investment keeps pace with our impact.”

Wyche came to High Point as a student at High Point University in 2001, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, and she never left. She also holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development, and is a graduate of Leadership High Point’s Class of 2026 and the Center for Creative Leadership. She served as Chair of the Board of Deacons at College Park Baptist Church, Program Leadership Team Co-Chair for shift_ed, and currently serves as a board member of Grace Education Advocacy and as a Business High Point Chamber Ambassador.

For Wyche, the move to BGCTriad is a chance to bring all of that experience to bear on a single mission.

“Boys & Girls Clubs change the trajectory of young people’s lives, and the Future Ready Triad vision is exactly the kind of work I love—bringing people together around possibilities and opportunities, and then doing the work to make it real,” said Wyche. “Relationships aren’t separate from this work. They are the work. I’m honored to help build the foundation that will carry this movement to every corner of our region.”

In the weeks ahead, Wyche will be meeting with board and advisory council members, campaign leaders, and community partners across the region. To learn more about Future Ready Triad and how to invest in the campaign, visit bgctriad.org/future-ready.
